1.31.13 – (LAA) – Samsung Tablets, EC Meeting, Base Chair and Base Vice Chair Elections, New Hire Classes
APFA Weekly Hotline – January 31, 2013
Samsung Tablets
We are hearing from more and more flight attendants about problems with the company-issued Tablets as distribution increases. Management has stated that OSRs will be removed from the aircraft shortly leaving the Tablets as our only means of processing passenger purchases on board. APFA is working with the company to see that these problems are resolved soon. Please continue to provide APFA with your feedback.
APFA Executive Committee Meeting
The APFA Executive Committee will hold its quarterly meeting in Chicago on February 13-14, 2013. The meeting will take place at the Hilton Chicago, 198 Delaware Place, Chicago, IL 60611. All members are invited and welcome to attend the open portions of the meeting.
Base Chair and Base Vice Chair Elections
Balloting for APFA base representatives began January 23 for the following bases: BOS, DFW, LAXI, LGA, JFK, MIA and IMA. Voting is open to all active members in good standing at these bases. Voting is electronic and ends at 10:00 a.m. Central Time on February 22, 2013.
In order for a vote to be counted, an active member in bad standing must arrange to become a member in good standing no later than 5pm CT on February 19, 2013.
If you have questions, please contact the APFA Dues Department at 817-540-0108 x8152 or [email protected].
New Hire Classes (REPEAT!)
Lots of rumors about delaying new hire training. The first class started on January 28, 2013. The company has told APFA that the only delay will be with the second class as a result of the large number of candidates and the required processing time. Classes are scheduled every Monday beginning February 11, with two classes a month also starting on Wednesday. We look forward to our new hires joining us on the line.
