APFA Hotline – Proof of Eligibility Deadline Wednesday; LTD Rollover Problems
January 14, 2014
Proof of Eligibility Deadline Tomorrow
The APFA Health Department has learned there are 108 Flight Attendants who have not provided their dependent Proof of Eligibility (POE) for 2014 Open Enrollment. The deadline is tomorrow, January 15, 2014. To verify that you provided proper POE, go to new Jetnet, click on People, Benefits Service Center, My Benefits, View my Dependent Data. If the POE status shows as “Accepted”, you’re all set. If you see “Requested” or “Partial,” you still need to take action in order to verify. If you have any questions, call the HR Service Center at 800-447-2000 and follow the prompts for Benefits.
Long Term Disability (LTD)
APFA has been in contact with AA’s HR (Mercer) concerning the recent LTD problems for some Flight Attendants such as coverage not showing as rolled over for 2014, and premium deductions not coming out of some mid-January paychecks. Mercer will be running an LTD computer file this week, which in turn should update MetLife, the designated carrier for our disability insurance.
MetLife should be finished with its update on Friday evening at which time LTD coverage will appear as “Active” under Current Coverage in the Benefits Service Center of the new Jetnet. If you are caught up in the LTD debacle and coverage does not show active by the first of next week, contact the HR Service Center at 800-447-2000.
