Waive Minimum Days Off in PBS
The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) specifies Lineholders receive 11 calendar days off in domicile during the bid month. The CBA also provides this provision can be waived in PBS, ISAP and ETB.Effective with the June Bid Month (May 10-16 bidding window), a new waiver will be available in PBS. The waiver will be located on the Days Off tab in PBS:
Flight Attendants who would consider using the Waive 11 Days Off waiver include:
1. Flight Attendants who want to be awarded High Time
2. Flight Attendants who want to fly ODANs (On Duty All Night), Red-Eye Pairings or other Pairings that contain 24+ hour layovers. For example, a three calendar day Pairing that contains only two duty periods.
Below are two examples using the waiver:
Desire High Time
Layer 1: Target Credit Range 100-110 + Waive Minimum Days Off
Layer 2: Target Credit Range 90-110 + Waive Minimum Days Off
ODAN/Red eye
Layer 1: Prefer ODAN and/or Red-eye + Waive Minimum Days Off
Please Note: Once waived all succeeding layer will inherit this property. In other words, once the system awards less than 11 Days Off in a Layer, it will not go back in subsequent Layers and add Days Off to the Award.
Avoid Reserve Preference
Be advised, Avoid Reserve Bid will include the Waive Minimum Days Off waiver.
ETB Pay/No Credit for Carry In Trips
Effective with the June Bid Month (May 10-16 bidding window), PBS will recognize and Carry-In ETB time as Pay/No Credit. This will mean any carry-in ETB Pairing time into the June Bid Month will not appear in the Pre-Existing Credit field.
Using ISAP and ETB
Flight Attendants have the ability to use ETB (Electronic Trade Board) as well as ISAP. The F/A may affect her/his MAX hours from using ETB which may cause a denial in ISAP due to over or under-projection. The following examples demonstrate the adjustments made to MAX hours when using ETB and following that with using ISAP:
Equipment Substitutions
The intent when determining the F/A complement on an Equipment Substitutions (Sub) is to staff the new equipment with the applicable complement for the new equipment. All LUS domiciles are now working under the CBA 2013 provisions including the Hours of Service and Scheduling sections.
As a result, the same rules related to Equipment Substitutions are applicable to CLT, DCA, PHL and PHX. The following procedures outline how Equipment Substitutions are handled as it relates to the F/A Core pairing crew, FAN F/A, 7IM F/A, extra F/As and LOD/O positions.
