As a result of the much anticipated June 1st I.T. enhancements to the LUS Electronic Trade Board (ETB), the system speed has reduced considerably, and at times shut down entirely. To make matters worse, Crew Scheduling was initially uncooperative in assisting with Flight Attendant trip exchanges.

While Crew Schedule is now willing to assist Flight Attendants when ETB is not working properly, there is still the issue of ETB itself and how to resolve the constant problems associated with it. The Joint Implementation Resolution Committee (JIRC) met with the company last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to focus on what changes need to be made in order to resolve ETB issues once and for all. APFA Vice President Marcus Gluth was briefed following Thursday’s meeting and subsequently called for an internal meeting Friday so the JIRC could brief the LUS Base Representatives.

As a result of APFA’s meetings with the company, they have agreed to hold daily tech calls with I.T., Flight Service and Labor Relations regarding ETB until all facets of ETB are up to standard. Flight Attendant Beta testers are now in place at all four LUS domiciles to test any new ETB improvements and/or applications before they are implemented into the main ETB system.

Three critical items will be tested this week:

  • Overall ETB performance (speed) improvements
  • Order of posted trips with the most recent appearing first
  • Sorting field expansion

It is incredibly frustrating to bear the brunt of transitioning to an entirely new scheduling program that is not up to par as the LUS Flight Attendants have had to do since March of this year. APFA Officers and Base Representatives are in constant contact with the company regarding the ongoing I.T. issues and your base reps continue to work around the clock to address and gather details of the problems. APFA will continue to push the company until all aspects of PBS are working properly and in accordance with the expectations in place when PBS was negotiated.

Please continue to report any problems you encounter with PBS/ISAP/RESERVE or ETB by clicking here and filling out the report.

Please stay tuned to the APFA Hotline for updates.
