It’s airline earnings’ season and all of the major airlines, including American, continue to announce record profits. In today’s earnings call, AA reported a second quarter net profit of $1.9 billion – the highest quarterly profit in airline history.
The company’s success and its trajectory are clear. The front-line employees helped turn these stellar profits for American. APFA will continue to discuss with and attempt to convince management of, the best way to structure a bonus/profit-sharing program.
Thanks to some of the world’s major figures, profit sharing is being pushed to the front of the conversation. Hillary Clinton has made it a key component of her economic policy agenda and has purposed providing tax incentives to companies that share profits with employees:
“I will propose ways to encourage companies to share profits with their employees. That’s good for workers, and good for business… “(H)ard working Americans deserve to benefit from the record profits they help produce… studies show that profit sharing that gives everyone a stake in a company’s success increases productivity.”
