40-Hour Monthly Minimum – LAA/LUS
Last May at the APFA Board of Directors Meeting in Dallas-Fort Worth, a resolution was unanimously approved that APFA would approach the Company to eliminate the 40-Hour Scheduling Obligation in PBS. If an agreement were to be reached with the Company, it would be required to present this substantial contractual change to the membership for ratification.
Unfortunately, after numerous discussions, the Company has declined to remove the 40-hour scheduling minimum in the JCBA. Reasons for the denial include “adding complexity to Flight Attendant manpower planning” and “impact[ing] coverage risk”, making it “more difficult to forecast and plan for than our current negotiated 40-hour floor.”
Although we are extremely disappointed in not being able to bring this issue to you for an immediate vote, APFA shall once again approach the Company on this important issue once we are closer to LAA PBS implementation.
