APFA National Officer Changes
In response to the APFA National President’s resignation, effective October 9, 2015 at the end of the business day, certain leadership changes will take place.
In accordance with the APFA Constitution, the current National Vice President Marcus Gluth will assume the office of National President in order to fill that vacancy. Marcus was elected National Vice President in 2012. In that role, he has overseen the Union’s grievance and arbitration operation (System Board of Adjustment) on a daily basis. In addition, he has shared duties of managing APFA Headquarters, facilitating Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings, and representing the Union at public events and speaking engagements. A 27-year Flight Attendant, Marcus is based at MIA.
Also, in accordance with the Constitution, the APFA Board of Directors this week appointed a National Vice President to fill the vacancy left by Marcus Gluth’s transition. Rick Knuth, a Legacy US Airways Flight Attendant, will serve out the remainder of the term as National Vice President. Based in CLT, Rick has been flying for 23 years. Additionally, he was a member of the Joint Negotiating Committee which bargained the current Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement. As an attorney, experienced in Labor Relations, Rick is well-suited to take over APFA’s System Board of Adjustment Department.
Jeff Pharr and Greg Gunter will remain in their positions as APFA National Secretary and National Treasurer, respectively. The term for the four National Officers ends on March 31, 2016.
