2016 APFA Annual Convention

Next week, the APFA Board of Directors (BOD) convenes for the Annual Convention and Phoenix is the host city. All members in good standing are invited and encouraged to attend. The convention takes place at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix Hotel in downtown Phoenix. The hotel is located at 340 North 3rd St, Phoenix, AZ, 85004.

The convention is scheduled to begin on March 9th with adjournment scheduled on March 12th, most days begin at 09:00, lasting into the evening. The agenda is packed with updates and reports from the National Officers, along with APFA Department Committees and Chairs. The BOD will review and approve the 2016/2017 Fiscal Year APFA Budget. The BOD will also hold an election for the open Executive Committee Ad Hoc Member positions. The BOD also discusses, debates, and votes on business and agenda items that affect many aspects of the APFA as an entity and the membership.

This is your chance to become more involved in your Union, meet other BOD Members from around the system, and most importantly meet and talk with the newly elected National Officers as they will be in attendance as well.

Meetings with Flight Service Managers

While no one wants to be scheduled for a mandatory meeting with his or her Flight Service Manager (FSM), occasionally a situation arises where one is necessary. Please remember that you can count on your PHX Base Representatives to sit in with you during meetings with your FSM. Please remember that a minimum of 48 hours of notice is requested before the scheduled meeting. This helps to ensure that your Representative has time to prepare for your meeting.  When a meeting is necessary, please call (480) 966-1231, Ext. 4, leave your Name, CATCREW number, a brief reason for the meeting, and a good contact phone number.  A Grievance Representative will contact you within 48 hours of your meeting to confirm. If it is necessary to cancel or reschedule a meeting, please call the number or your Rep. to let them know as soon as possible.
