Long Term Disability Overpayments – LAA

After receiving several phone calls from Flights Attendants, APFA contacted the company and it was discovered that the new Benefits Administration Vendor (AON) used an incorrect formula for the calculation of Long Term Disability (LTD) premiums for 2015. As a result, approximately 10,000 LAA Flight Attendants were overcharged for LTD benefits. The company has recalculated and audited the 2015 LTD benefit premiums for accuracy, and will issue credits to all Flight Attendants affected.

Affected Flight Attendants with a base pay greater than fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) per year should see a special credit via Direct Deposit on or around May 20, 2016 for their 2015 LTD overpayments. The average refund per Flight Attendant is approximately one hundred and eleven dollars ($111).

The company has now put measures in place to ensure all future premium deductions are correct. Should you have any questions in regard to your overpayment please feel free to call the Benefits Service Center at 888-860-6178.
