PHX WINGS Wear Blow-out Event & WINGS Summer Blitzes
PHX WINGS Wear Blow-out Event
With the new uniform roll-out on September 20th, there is still a need for Flight Attendants to be able to access affordable LUS uniform pieces. The WINGS Foundation will hold three (3) Blow-out events, with the first one taking place on Thursday, June 23 from 0900 to 1700 at the PHX Flight Training Center located at 1950 E. Buckeye Road, Phoenix, AZ 85034. There will be additional events in July and early August.
While we are no longer accepting donated uniforms in the PHX Flight Service check-in area, Flight Attendants who have gently used or new items to donate may call the Training Center at 480-693-8241 to see if security will place the uniforms in the PHX WINGS Wear Store. Uniforms can be dropped off on the day of the event as well!
Here’s a sneak-peak at the “blow-out suggested donation prices” for New and Gently Used uniform pieces:
- 2-Button Jackets – $15.00
- Dresses – $10.00
- Zip Jackets, Zip Sweaters and Pants – $7.50
- Shirts, Tailored Tops, Mock Sweaters – $3.50
WINGS Summer Crew Room Blitzes
From June through August, you will see local WINGS volunteers in the PHX Flight Service check-in area conducting blitzes to:
- Educate Flight Attendants on how WINGS assists Flight Attendants
- Encourage enrollment to financially support those WINGS assists
- Provide information on recycling specific to the PHX base
- Invite other Flight Attendants to volunteer their services to help bring WINGS information to all LUS Flight Attendants
Crew Room Blitzes are currently scheduled for June 29-30 and July 1.

Pegasus Project Donations
Did your Pegasus Project donation get directed to the WINGS Foundation? You can find out by stopping by the Blitz.
Your Pegasus donations were not automatically directed to the WINGS Foundation after Pegasus closed their doors. Unless a Flight Attendant contacted United Way to make this change, their donation was redirected to the American Airlines Family Fund. We need to rebuild the funds that were going to Pegasus in order to continue helping Flight Attendants through the WINGS Foundation. You have the following options:
- Continue to donate to the American Airlines Family Fund, which assists all American Airlines employees. No action needed.
- Donate to Wings through United Way. Complete this form.
- Donate directly to Wings by clicking here.
At the end of this three-month campaign, all donors who have already been donating, or who have enrolled during this campaign and who give on a recurring basis will be included in a drawing for the following:
- 25,000 AAdvantage Miles Awards (Two Drawings)
- Framed Costa Rica Destination Picture
- City of Phoenix Gift Basket
- First Class Amenity Kits from each airline making up American Airlines
- WINGS American Airlines Vintage Afghan
We would like to thank all PHX Flight Attendants who currently donate to the WINGS Foundation. Your donations make an incredible impact on the lives of Flight Attendants who have limited resources. On behalf of all Flight Attendants assisted by The WINGS Foundation, thank you for your generosity!
You may volunteer for any of these upcoming WINGS events by contacting PHX-Based Flight Attendant Nicki Kirkeby at [email protected] or 480-586-8556.
