Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) Reaches a Tentative Agreement with United Airlines (UAL) – LAA/LUS
This morning it was announced that United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) have reached a tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement. If ultimately ratified by their members, the agreement will unite 25,000 United Flight Attendants under a joint contract. APFA will be watching closely as the current language in the Negotiations Protocol Agreement (NPA) allows us to re-analyze the market based aggregate standard value set forth in the original Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) between APFA and AA.
APFA Board of Directors (BOD) Invited to APFA Headquarters to Meet with National Officers – LAA/LUS
APFA Base Presidents will fly in to meet with the National Officers at APFA Headquarters June 28-29, 2016 to have candid discussions about how to move forward collectively as an organization and promote the best interests of the membership.
Power Outage Scheduled at APFA Headquarters Tomorrow – LAA/LUS
Yesterday, it was discovered that the transformer for APFA Headquarters had begun leaking coolant fluid. Since the coolant fluid is petroleum based, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that repairs be made within 48 hours due to environmental concerns. ONCOR will be performing emergency maintenance tomorrow (Saturday, June 25th) from approximately 2PM – 9PM CST. This will require building facilities maintenance to do a full system shutdown affecting all communications and power to APFA Headquarters. Emails will remain in queue and will start flowing once systems are up again. All website functionality will still be available except for the Live Chat option which requires reps to log in to computers at APFA Headquarters.
