WINGS Foundation Uniform Blow-out Sale Monday, July 18
With the new uniform roll-out on September 20th, there is still a need for Flight Attendants to be able to access affordable LUS uniform pieces. The WINGS Foundation will hold 2 more Blow-out events, with the next one taking place on Monday, July 18th from 0900 to 1700 at the PHX Flight Training Center located at 1950 E. Buckeye Road, Phoenix, AZ 85034. The Final Blow-out Event will take place in early August.
While we are no longer accepting donated uniforms in the PHX Flight Service check-in area, Flight Attendants who have gently used or new items to donate may call the Training Center at 480-693-8241 to ask if Security will place the uniforms in the PHX WINGS Wear Store. No receipts can be offered for uniforms dropped at the Training Center. Uniforms can be dropped off on the day of the event as well! We ask that only clean and gently used or new items be donated. After the final Blow-out event, items with no US Airways logo’s on them will be donated to local charities supporting the community.
Here’s a sneak-peak at the “blow-out suggested donation prices” for New and Gently Used uniform pieces:
- 2-Button Jackets – $15.00
- Dresses – $10.00
- Zip Jackets, Zip Sweaters and Pants – $7.50
- Shirts, Tailored Tops, Mock Sweaters – $3.50Â Â Â Â Â Â
We’ll also have WINGS merchandise, including the vintage afghan, note cards, mini gold wings, cookbook, stylus pen/flashlight and our newest item….the WINGS PHX  hot and cold Tumbler!Â
WINGSÂ Summer Crew Room Blitzes
We would like to sincerely thank all the Flight Attendants who stopped by the WINGS Blitzes. It has been an inspiration to see the generosity of so many of you who took the initiative to ensure that your Pegasus donation was directed to the WINGS Foundation! During the blitzes held in April and June, over 150 Flight Attendants enrolled or re-directed their United Way donation to the WINGS Foundation and 37 Flight Attendants expressed an interest in volunteering with either fundraising, educational outreach, recycling, fundraising or casework!! This is truly remarkable! We will continue doing Blitzes during July and August, so please stop by!
WINGSÂ Assistance Statistics for 2015

- LUS Flight Attendants were assisted with over $160,000 of the $875,000
- WINGSÂ receives approximately $30,000 a year from LUS Flight Attendants
Pegasus Project Donations
Did your Pegasus Project donation get directed to the WINGS Foundation? You can find out by stopping by the Blitz.
Your Pegasus donations were not automatically directed to the WINGS Foundation after Pegasus closed their doors. Unless a Flight Attendant contacted United Way to make this change, their donation was redirected to the American Airlines Family Fund. We need to rebuild the funds that were going to Pegasus in order to continue helping Flight Attendants through the WINGS Foundation. You have the following options:Â
- Continue to donate to the American Airlines Family Fund, which assists all American Airlines employees. No action needed.
- Donate to Wings through United Way. Complete this form.
- Donate directly to Wings by clicking here.
At the end of this three-month campaign, all donors who have already been donating, or who have enrolled during this campaign and who give on a recurring basis will be included in a drawing for the following:
- 25,000 AAdvantage Miles Awards (Two Drawings)
- Framed Costa Rica Destination Picture
- City of Phoenix Gift BasketÂ
- First Class Amenity Kits from each airline making up American AirlinesÂ
- WINGS American Airlines Vintage Afghan
We would like to thank all PHX Flight Attendants who currently donate to the WINGS Foundation. Your donations make an incredible impact on the lives of Flight Attendants who have limited resources. On behalf of all Flight Attendants assisted by The WINGS Foundation, thank you for your generosity!
Please contact PHX-Based Flight Attendant Nicki Kirkeby at [email protected] or 480-586-8556, if you would like to volunteer with WINGS.
