APFA PHX Supports SWA Flight Attendants
Southwest Airlines (SWA) Flight Attendants are currently in their fourth year of protracted negotiations with a new Management strategy that is slow moving and mostly unresponsive. SWA Pilots are in their fifth year of heated negotiations, in addition to the SWA Mechanics. The time has come for Flight Attendants to show Southwest Airlines Management the strength of their solidarity with the strength of their supporters.
After years of supporting and picketing with America West Flight Attendants, our Brothers and Sisters at Southwest are now asking for our support! On Monday, August 8, Transport Workers Union Local 556 will conduct informational picketing at PHX Sky Harbor Airport. APFA members in PHX are invited to attend and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Brothers and Sisters at Southwest Airlines, to help them fight for a Contract they deserve, which is long overdue.
The PHX Flight Attendant community has a strong relationship with each other. We are connected as co-workers, friends and family. As a result of airline start-ups, mergers, bankruptcies and growth, we have developed life-long connections within our profession.
The informational picket in PHX on Monday, August 8thwill take place from 7:00am until 10:00am at Terminal 4, Level 2, South-side, East-end. American Airlines Flight Attendants should wear non-uniform clothing. Picket signs with the APFA logo will be provided. The picket coordinator for the PHX event is Southwest Airlines PHX Flight Attendant Michael Broadhead. If you have any questions about the event, Michael can be reached at [email protected].
The Maricopa Area Labor Federation is deeply appreciative of the support that APFA Flight Attendants can provide for this event. Times have changed at Southwest Airlines. The Flight Attendants of SWA need and appreciate our support!
