Wage Adjustment Hearing Update – LAA/LUS
After adjourning today at 1900 ET, the Wage Adjustment Arbitration Hearing will continue into tomorrow. If you’ve been following us on Twitter, you’ve probably heard that yesterday’s opening statements from Company Council included the comment that, through this arbitration, “APFA wants to have its cake and eat it too.” It is our opinion that this is precisely the mindset that has led to a demoralized and divided workforce.
In response, APFA delivered two yellow cakes with chocolate frosting to Doug Parker and Robert Isom today at their American Airlines offices with the following note attached:
We would like to keep you apprised of the developments at the Arbitration taking place in Washington, D.C. between APFA and AA. In Robert Siegel’s opening remarks, he stated that APFA has taken the position of “wanting their cake and eating it too.” Let’s make something crystal clear—this is not APFA’s position—it is the position of all 26,000 American Airlines Flight Attendants. We deserve to “have our cake and eat it too,”- and not just a slice. To show that we, the AA Flight Attendants, know how and when to share, please enjoy this cake.
