It was announced today that Delta will award more than $1 Billion in profit sharing to employees tomorrow for 2016, bringing their 5 year total profit sharing payout to nearly $5 Billion dollars.
Alaska Airlines will pay out profit sharing that equals more than 8% of most employees’ annual pay for 2016. Southwest employees will get approximately 13% of their eligible earnings in profit sharing while American contributed $314 Million into their profit sharing pool for 2016, which will result in a 3% payout on eligible earnings for front-line workers.
This news comes as we prepare to picket AA Headquarters at DFW as well as at CLT, LAX, and MIA.
At the recent arbitration hearing held in Washington DC, American Airlines lawyers called APFA’s demands for fair pay increases in excess of 1.6%, “wanting their cake and eating it too.” It is time for Mr. Parker to start recognizing that American’s record profits are the result of the hard work and sacrifices of its employees.
Please consider showing up at a picketing event near you. We are worth more.
