APFA Board of Directors’ Annual Convention  – LAA/LUS

The APFA Board of Directors’ Annual Convention in St. Louis concluded today. Over the past four days, the BOD approved the annual budget, updated the APFA Policy Manual, and received detailed briefings from the Joint Scheduling Implementation Committee (JSIC) and the APFA National Department Chairs and Representatives. Newly elected Base Presidents and Vice Presidents taking office on April 1st, were also in attendance.

The BOD elected two (2) Ad Hoc Members of the Executive Committee (EC), nominated and appointed a new member to the Budget Committee to replace outgoing RDU Base President, Kimberly Smedley, and appointed members to serve on the Constitution Review Committee and the Policy Manual Review Committee.

Along with duties outlined in the APFA Constitution, Ad Hoc Members of the Executive Committee shall function, when necessary, as the APFA Grievance Appeal Panel to review decisions of the Grievance Review Committee.

Daylight Savings Time Begins This Weekend – LAA/LUS

Daylight Savings Time (DST) starts for most of the U.S. on Sunday, March 12, at 2:00 AM. 

Exceptions include Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation, which observes DST), Hawaii, and the overseas territories of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 5, 2017.
