Fellow Flight Attendants,
The Company announced today that it will provide raises to the Pilot and Flight Attendant work groups effective May 1, 2017. Flight Attendant pay scales will match Delta’s current rates at all steps, translating to increases between 4.2% and 6.5% for our work group.Â
Although this news comes after the loss of a costly and hard fought battle in arbitration, I am encouraged by their apparent willingness to finally begin recognizing Flight Attendants’ contributions to this airline’s success.
This development would not have been possible without the memberships’ unrelenting pressure to be compensated in line with our peers after APFA’s case in arbitration clearly outlined the inequities that we face.Â
There is still much work to be done in bringing our work groups together and building on this progress, but today’s announcement is a welcomed step in the right direction. We look forward to expanding on this long overdue gesture to improve the culture at the New American. Our membership’s commitment and dedication deserve nothing less.Â
More information on the details of this announcement will follow.Â
In Unity,Â
Bob Ross
APFA National President
