Payroll Clarification on May True-up Pay – LAA
We have received several questions about the “true up” pay for May flying that is reflected in the June 30, 2017 pay details that have been posted in EPays.
Using the current 13 year pay rate as an example, the following chart illustrates how the true-up is included in the June 30th pay statement:
In this example, the 100.07 hours of R Regular Pay (actual hours worked in May) was paid at the new rate of $64.96. The 70 hours of R Base Pay (35 hours paid on May 15 and 35 hours paid on May 30), which is deducted from the R Regular Pay was calculated using the old rate of $62.33. The difference in these two amounts ($2.63) x the R Base pay (70 hours) results in the actual “true-up” that is built-in to the R Regular pay amount:
70 x $2.63 = $184.10 (true-up amount).
Going forward, the C Base Pay, R Regular Pay and R Base Pay will all be calculated using the new adjusted rates of pay for each pay step.
