Nationwide Day of Action
Our picketing event across the system was nothing short of energizing. We are all frustrated with the company’s failures. The list of failures is long: IT glitches, incorrect programming of the systems, inhumane sequences that are being constructed, the continued contractual violations, and the highly punitive and restrictive attendance policy, to name a few.
Most importantly, we no longer feel valued or respected for the job we do. We have poured years of blood, sweat and tears into this company to make it what it is today. American did not get here by themselves- this company is here because of the sacrifices that all employees made through decades of deep concessions, coupled with a leap of faith that we would once again ascend to the top. We have risen, but AA management needs a wake up call to remind them how we arrived here. We will not be ignored.
A big ‘thank you’ to all those who joined the picketing event. We know many of you were there in spirit. If you would like to sign up to participate in future events to help us engage our membership, you can send your contact information to Tracey Montanari at [email protected]. If you are on Facebook, there is wAAke up American group you can request to join.
In Unity and Solidarity,
