Greetings PHX FA’s!

On April 1 and April 3, 2019, PHX Base President Mischel Babi and PHX Base Council Representative Dan Friel participated in our monthly Sequence Allocations and Crew Planning call. PHX continues to take a hit in our numbers regarding staffing and we STRONGLY voiced our anger and disgust regarding the line average and RSV numbers as our base has the largest disparity system wide. We reminded them that lower line average=lower reserves.

Discussion on our allocations call also involved the ever so popular 4-day trip situation,  we were able to get the company to reduce the amount of 4-day trips by approximately 2% as compared to the April 2019 bid and will continue to fight for a better balance of the 4-day sequences as there was 14 pages of drops on the ETB for 4-day trips at the beginning of the call on April 1st.

Also, you will notice that some of the Hawaii flying is mixed with some domestic. We questioned this and the answer from the company was, “This is due to the future evolution of Hawaii sequences transitioning to Airbus aircraft and mixing some of the sequences through LAX”. There are only a few sequences in the May bid that operate on Friday and Saturday that reflect this type of trip.

The following is what to expect for the May 2019 bid period:

*1-day Sequence:  20.4%
*2-day Sequence:  30.8%
*3-day Sequence:  30.2%
*4-day Sequence:  18.6%
