10.08.19 – ORD Base Brief – November Allocations
Tuesday, October 8, 2019
Hello ORD!
We would like to give a warm welcome to all FAs new to ORD. Happy to have you are here! Please remember when contacting us, always include your employee number and let us know if you have contacted another rep or HDQ. This helps us to not duplicate work. ORD reps are available by phone, text and email. “Live Chat” on the APFA website is another after hours/weekend resource for assistance.
When you have a workplace issue, please make your first call for assistance to the base Professional Standards Rep. We believe the peer-to-peer approach to conflict resolution is highly effective. It is also preferable to a solution that involves management which can compound the problem.
Jillian Bocenda is the ORD Rep 817-540-0108 x 8615.
The monthly allocation meeting was last week. Most of the data we receive is available to you on the Crew Portal Bidding Dashboard and in the Bid packet. We will continue to share these numbers and any pertinent information from the call.

Call Highlights:
–Schedule changes on 11/3 & 21. Thanksgiving is driving the 11/21 changes that will impact the last 10 days of the month. The end of the month will be sloppy.
–We keep pushing for additional 787 domestic flying. There are PHX, SFO turns and some mixed DFW 2-day and turns.
–We’re still working with crew resources to get the right mix of ODAN flying. There is a small increase for NOV. The company number is based on “starts per day”. NOV 5.1 v OCT 0.8, SEP 1.1 and AUG 14.4
–We addressed the long sit times that continue to be built into pairings as well as the increase in 4-day pairings at the expense of 3-day. Keeping a mix of commutable pairings is also a priority.
–Please continue to share your feedback.
