3.13.20 – PHX Base Brief
Friday, March 13, 2020
PHX Flight Attendants,
We know that right now is a very stressful and anxiety fueled time for everyone with all the changes and information being thrown at you about cancellations and bidding timelines associated with the announcement of travel restrictions to Europe. I want to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to stay on top of everything. Everything that is happening right now is very fluid and changes by the minute.
Yesterday we had a call with the Company regarding the system wide cancellations and shuffling of hours at all bases and even during that call things were changing as we spoke.
While PHX has not had the level of cancellations as our colleagues at other bases who have the majority of IPD flying, it still affects us all because of the domino effect of how to even out the flying system wide. So here is what we know for now, be mindful that this is subject to change.
PHX will have:
1,182 Lineholders
358 reserves
Line average will be 76.0
94 VOLO’s awarded
101 VLOA’s awarded
Our hours for the PHX base changed from a projected 84,600 to it now being 80,192.
As of right now our LHR has not cancelled, that is subject to change.
We have been assured that anyone who was designated as a LH in the LRD tool will not be forced to reserve.
They have opened the VLOA process again for those who wish to apply and the bidding timeline is:
Open 0800 CT, 13 MAR and close at 0800 CT on 17 MAR.
If you bid for a VLOA, please back yourself up with a bid in PBS just in case you are not awarded one.
As we find out more, so will you!
As always you can reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
