It is hard to believe where we find ourselves today. Our options are limited, and our choices are not easy. We all know the Company has announced a reduction in force and has sent out WARN notices for the 9,950 most junior on the seniority list. In an attempt to mitigate as many furloughs as possible, the Company is offering a Voluntary Early-Out Program (VEOP), as well as an Extended Voluntary Leave of Absence (EVLOA) and Short-Term Leave of Absence (STLOA) opportunities.

The balloting for these programs will close on Wednesday, August 12th at 2359 (CDT). The ballots for these programs may be found here.

We are also dealing with the uncertainty of whether the Payroll Support Program (PSP) within the CARES Act will be extended. If the PSP is extended, this could be a game-changer. You must write to your Senators encouraging them to pass this bill to help save our jobs. Face Masks
Face masks are required by all passengers and crew. Face shields are permitted by crew members, but you must also wear a mask. File a CERS report if you have a non-compliant passenger. APFA, along with other Unions across the industry, has been supporting uniformed, federally mandated COVID-19 safety procedures since March. Read about the Healthy Flights Act of 2020, introduced by Chairman Peter DeFazio (OR-04), Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Coronavirus Exposure
