October Plan
All,
Allocations is still working on the October schedule. Absent an extension to the Payroll Support Program (PSP), the Company plans to operate the October schedule for the Miami base with an available headcount of 1,839 Flight Attendants. Last October, the available headcount was 3,637. This represents a 50% reduction in flying year-over-year.
Reserve typically ranges from 14%- 21% depending on the month and any holiday periods. Calculating how senior Reserve will go will depend on how the rotations line up with any given month. Miami based Flight Attendants who fall within the seniority range of reserve will be on a one on, three off rotation.
I expect to release the full manning numbers next Tuesday after the staffing and manning calls.
Should Congress extend the PSP, these numbers will be reworked. I encourage everyone to continue reaching out to your Congressional leaders, urging them to grant the airlines the relief necessary to avoid thousands of furloughs and the airline industry’s downsizing. Your voice does matter. More information is available here.
On Friday, there is a planned “pop-up” picketing at Senator Rick Scott’s office from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm at 901 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Coral Gables, FL, 33134. Hopefully, you can join us and support the effort.
In Solidarity,
Randy Trautman
APFA MIA Base President
