Deep South Flying for December
Pay Protections
Latin America-Based Flight Attendant Reductions

All,I would like to provide you a preliminary update on Deep South flying for December. GRU will operate daily with a double layover. GIG will begin service on 12/16 and will operate daily as a Rocket with a 13.55 hour layover. MVD will operate every Wednesday as a Rocket with a 13.01-13.06 layover, and every Friday with a 13.55 hour layover. Additionally, I have requested EZE flying for January in exchange for Central America. Contractually, we only have exclusivity on the second round-trip.

The XF code is a new code that represents sequence pay protection if the sequence cancels in its entirety due to demand or COVID closures. This is part of the pay protection LOA for November, and is outside of the contractual protection in Section 10 of the JCBA. The XR code represents a partial cancellation in which part of the sequence is flown by a substitute crew. You will see partial pay initially, but pay comp will restore the pay to the original value of the sequence usually within a week depending on when they run the audit. It is not necessary to submit a Direct Connect. I have been working with APFA National to address sequences which have lost time due to cancellations and modifications, that do not fall within the XF or XR protections. As a reminder if you choose to double dip over any sequence that generates pay protection, you will LOSE that protection if you do any ETB transaction over the calendar days of the sequence. This includes trading. TTS/UBL only will allow you to double dip without compromising the pay protection.

I continue to press the Company for the final reduction numbers in Latin America. On Thursday I advised the Company they have an obligation to communicate the reductions to the APFA members now! I have been demanding equitable treatment since the furloughs were announced and get the same lame excuses for the delays. The governments, the Ministers of Defense, the Country laws, expensive severance packages, and a host of other excuses. I have only been told that through leaves, VEOPs, and involuntary separations, that the headcounts have been reduced. Please continue to email Management and share your frustrations. Keep the pressure on.

In Solidarity,
