Boeing 777 Concerns/March Pay Protections/Vacation Bidding
All,
American currently has 47 Boeing 777-200 and 20 Boeing 777-300 aircraft in its fleet, neither of which use the Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engine or are impacted by the Federal Aviation Administration’s emergency Airworthiness Directive. Our Boeing 777-200s are equipped with the Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engine and our Boeing 777-300s are equipped with the GE Aviation GE90 engines.
The April bidding timeline will be extended in exchange for a March Letter of Agreement which extends pay protections beyond the JCBA provisions. This will once again include full and partial cancellations related to COVID. To see if your flight was cancelled due to COVID restrictions, please go to Jetnet > Flight Service > Crew Resources > Scheduling.
The primary round for vacation bidding closes on March 3rd at 1200 Central. The Secondary round opens on March 9th and closes on March 16th at 1200 (CT).
If your 2019 accrued vacation fell within a Paid Voluntary Leave of Absence (PVLOA), it was paid on February 16, 2021. If your 2019 accrued vacation fell within an Extended Voluntary Leave of Absence (EVLOA) or Short Term Leave of Absence (STLOA), it has been carried forward and will be bid during the secondary round. Those carried forward days will be reflected in the unscheduled balance of the Vacation Management portal.
