2021 APFA Annual Convention
This week, the APFA Board of Directors gathered in DFW for the annual convention. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting was limited to the National Officers, Base Presidents, Base Presidents-elect, and a small gallery.
The focus of this year’s convention was to put policies in place relating to APFA’s finances. Some of the resolutions were to update and clean up current policy; others were to write a policy for situations through which we have had to navigate but did not have a written policy. You may find more information on the Financial Reform Initiative in this recent National Hotline.
We are pleased to announce the creation of the first-ever APFA Diversity & Inclusion Committee, consisting of fifteen members-at-large who submitted a resume to be part of this new committee. We have two PHL-based Flight Attendants appointed to this committee- Kathryn Bedrosian and Chaddrian Calhoun- congratulations!
Executive Committee Ad Hoc elections were held for one end-of-term position. I am proud to announce that Brian Morgan was elected to this position and will begin his three-year term beginning April 1, 2021. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position and will be a great addition to the APFA Executive Committee.
The minutes for the meeting, including all of the final resolutions, will be sent out per policy within thirty days.
In Solidarity,
Kim Kaswinkel
