10.20.01 – (LAA) – Furloughs, Overage Leaves
This is Leslie Mayo, APFA National Communications Coordinator. Today is Saturday, October 20, 2001.
After the awarding of overage leaves of absence and partnership flying, the projected flight attendant surplus of 3,176 was reduced to 401.
These 401 furloughs will occur as follows: 200, effective November 1, with an additional 201, effective December 2. The most senior flight attendant furloughed has an occupational seniority date of October 12, 2000 and a system seniority number of 22,408.
To our knowledge, there have been 200 Appendix T requests, and 30 Retiree requests. At this point, the company does NOT expect for these furloughs to result in any forced transfers.
Crew Resources will begin inputting overage leaves into the computer. Flight Attendants who bid for an overage leave can check their HI-10 to verify whether or not they have been awarded an overage leave. To check to see whether or not you have been awarded a partnership, please consult the HI-DIRECTORY at the following address: HIDIR/FA/VC/PART. You may also call your local MOD Office.
If you have been awarded an Overage Leave and your vacation falls within the period of the Overage Leave, you must submit a paper bid for pay purposes only.
