President Bush signed the Aviation Security Bill on Monday and we would, again, like to thank all of our members for contacting Congress and the White House to ensure passage of this important legislation. The bill provides that baggage screeners will be federalized and 100% screening compliance of checked bags as well as all employees and vehicles that enter the secure area of the airport. The FAA is conducting criminal background checks on all 750,000 employees who enter secure airport grounds, as well.
