12.18.01 – (LAA) – Seniority Integration of the TWA LLC Flight Attendants in American Airlines, Defense Appropriations Bill, Chicago Furlough Reps
Hello. This is George Price, APFA InfoRep Coordinator, with the APFA Hotline for Tuesday, December 18, 2001.
On Monday, December 17, 2001, the APFA and American Airlines reached an agreement concerning the seniority integration of the TWA LLC Flight Attendants into American Airlines, and related matters. APFA President John Ward has called a teleconference of the APFA Board of Directors for Wednesday, December 19, at 1100 Central. Once the APFA Board of Directors reviews and approves the agreement, the APFA Hotline, the InfoRep Hotline, and APFA web site will be updated with the details of the agreement.
Joan Wages, APFA’s Legislative Representative, reports that the Defense Appropriations Conference Committee is still working on reconciling the House and Senate versions of the Defense Appropriations bill. We are closely monitoring the progress of the Committee’s work, and will report any news as it becomes available.
As a reminder, Flight Attendants are only allowed to carry over 9 points on their uniform account from one calendar year to the next. If you have not placed an order before the end of the year and you have more than 9 points in your account, all of the points in excess of 9 will expire.
The Chicago Base Representatives along with the Chicago Furlough Reps will host a meeting for all furloughed APFA members in the Chicago area on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 from 1000 until 1200 at the Radisson O’Hare. The Radisson is located at 6810 Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Illinois. The meeting will include presentations from the Illinois Department of Employment Services and various APFA Representatives. Those interested in attending should RSVP no later than Friday, January 11, 2002, by calling 773-380-1202, extension 1.
The APFA Hotline, InfoRep Hotline, and APFA web site will be updated on Wednesday with more information on the TWA Flight Attendant seniority integration agreement reached between the APFA and American.
Thanks for calling.
