9.01.04 – (LAA) – Long Layover Location in Paris Downtown, Open Time Coverage

This is Tommie Hutto-Blake, APFA President with a Hotline update.

Today is Wednesday, September 1, 2004. APFA is pleased to announce that due to the actions of you, the membership and the many union representatives who got involved for a positive change, we have secured a downtown hotel for all long layovers in Paris effective Friday, October 1, 2004.

APFA and AA worked very hard to secure a safe and comfortable downtown location in Paris. Due to security reasons, the name of the hotel will not be announced on this hotline, however, it will be posted on the APFA website this evening.

This four-star property is located in Montparnasse near the Latin Quarter in the Arondissement 14. This hotel had been one of the properties APFA recommended earlier this year, but the hotel was unable to meet the company’s financial objectives at the time. They are eager for our business and I know we are very eager to start enjoying downtown Paris again.

The hotel has two restaurants, 24-hour room service, a workout room, an in-room safe deposit box, wireless capability and a crew lounge with internet access and a coffee machine. It is within walking distance to two metro stations and an RER railstation.

I want to thank all of you once again for getting involved to get this problem fixed. It would not have happened without you.

Please stay on the line for the remainder of the APFA Hotline
