12.29.06 – (LAA) – MIC, WTS, Skyword, Reserve Trip Trading Poll

This is Leslie Mayo, National Communications Coordinator, with the APFA Hotline for Friday, December 29, 2006.

APFA News: From the Scheduling Department – Flight Attendants may be subject to assignment due to a Misconnect/Illegality/Cancellation (MIC), the language of which can be found in the CBA, Article 9.P. and I.9.P. Also, it is helpful to review the protection procedures for the last five days of the month. If you experience any problems with these procedures, please review the On-Duty Contract Guide, which can be found online at www.apfa.org, or contact the APFA Scheduling Department at [email protected].

In light of the upcoming holiday weekend, be aware of your monthly contractual flying limitations and over-projection rights. For example, just because you have elected to fly Option II for the month, does not mean you can be flown an unlimited amount of hours on a reschedule Please read the Rescheduling article on the APFA Web site under Departments > Scheduling > Reschedules. Contractual reference to monthly maximums can be found in Art. 7.B.,C.,D., and E., and App. I, Art. 7.B-E as well as page 8 of the On-Duty Contract Guide. Contractual reference to over-projection can be found in Art. 9.V.1 and App. I, Art. 9.W.1 as well as page 10 of the On-Duty Contract Guide.

If you are interested in Option II, Limited Option II, or Opposite Division Option II flying, these will be open for the remainder of December and through the 5th of January. Please reference the Domestic/International Option II and International/Domestic Option II links from the Scheduling Department page for the procedures to request Opposite Division Option II flying.

Bankruptcy Watch: Delta has announced they will recall their furloughed pilots and begin hiring new pilots in January. Many pilots took a “pass” or are on military or personal leaves, which will result in Delta hiring for the first time in five years.
