4.04.07 – (LAA) – Membership Call to Action Protesting Executive Bonuses
Today is Wednesday, April 4th, this is Tommie Hutto-Blake, APFA President, with a message to all APFA members.
By now each of you should have received information from your union regarding a “membership call to action.” APFA is calling all Flight Attendants to join together in a lawful protest on Friday, April 13th and Tuesday, April 17th. On Monday of this week we used a new communication tool to get this information into our system as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, this technology had a delay time causing late night phone calls to some of your homes. I want to apologize to each of you – and to members of your families – who may have been awakened by this call. This was certainly not our intent, and again, I apologize to each of you.
The good news is you received the message from your Union. I have enjoyed speaking to many of you who called requesting more information about our call to action. When Flight Attendants come together we display a common purpose and we do it with style. We were hired for these communication skills and our ability to operate in situations where others look to us for direction. We are good at what we do best – communication. We have a cause and we intend to make our voices heard. I look forward to joining many of you on the 13th in Dallas/Ft. Worth and the 17th at your base beginning at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Stay close to APFA’s communication channels especially in the next few weeks. Visit www.www.apfa.org for up-to-date information and continue to call this hotline.
