7.01.07 – (LAA) – FA System Seniority List Complete and DECS will Be Updated 7/2, Skyword Shipping

This is Leslie Mayo, National Communications Coordinator, with the APFA Hotline for Sunday, July 1, 2007.

The annual Flight Attendant System Seniority list is complete and DECS will be updated on Monday, July 2. You may review a copy of the list on APFA’s web site. Please email any discrepancies you may find along with any corresponding documentation to [email protected].

If your EPT base month is July, or if you are in your grace month and have not yet enrolled in a Recurrent Training class by July 1, you should contact the Training Support Desk as soon as possible to enroll. Classes toward the beginning of the month tend to have more availability than those at the end of the month. The Company will not hold class slots for those who call late in the month for enrollment. The slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Once the slots have been filled the company will not overbook the class. If you are having difficulties with EPT enrollment, please email the Contract Department and include details regarding your attempts to enroll in a Recurrent Training class.

Beginning July 2nd and with each contractual month thereafter and through the end of 2007, Reserve Flight Attendants will be able to request trip trades. Reserves may trade with other Reserves or with regularly-scheduled FAs. Once a Reserve FA confirms their assignment, the trip may be posted on HIBOARD and/or traded. Trips must be for the same number of days and the trade must be completed before sign-in. Trip trades will not be allowed for standby assignments or trips assigned while serving standby.

If you trade your Reserve assignment, the trade will not affect your Reserve guarantee. In other words, your guarantee will not be reduced if the trip for which you trade is worth less time than your assigned trip.

For details on trading, you can review the details on the Scheduling Department’s page at www.apfa.org. Reserve trip trade requests must be made via HISEND and will be processed in the order received.

The Summer Skyword shipped Friday and includes the Willingness To Serves for six elected members of the APFA Negotiating Team. Three members will be elected from the Domestic Operation and three members will be elected to the Int’l Operation. Please read this Skyword carefully as it includes information on negotiations and the Railway Labor Act. The online version will be available shortly.

You should have received your Skyword Express by now. You can view Skyword Express online at www.www.apfa.org by clicking on the Skyword link.

Please remember we have 2,104 Flight Attendants on furlough and awaiting recall.

APFA Headquarters will be closed on the 4th of July. If you need assistance, please call the after-hours representative by following the prompts via the APFA HDQ phone number, 817.540.0108.

That’s it for this week. Thank you for calling the APFA Hotline.
