Special HotLine Update for July 28, 2009 – Reminder of deadlines for furlough mitigation options

The deadlines for submission of ballots or election forms for the various furlough mitigation options currently being proffered are quickly approaching.

The election form for the Travel Separation Program for active, eligible Flight Attendants must be submitted by: 11pm (2300) central time on Thursday, July 30.

Proffer ballots for the Overage Leaves of Absence and/or the Modified Partnership Flying must be submitted by: 10am (1000) central time on Friday, July 31.

All submissions are made online through the AA Flight Service website. Go to the link:

Please contact an APFA Contract/Scheduling Rep-on-Duty if you have any questions on how one of these programs might work for you. Additionally, if you know of someone who frequently drops all or part of their schedule and who may be able to accept either a Leave of Absence and/or Modified Partnership Flying (Part-Time), please share this information if the event they did not get the word.

The Travel Separation program election deadline for furloughed Flight Attendants is: 11pm (2300 central time on Friday, August 14.

Once the proffers close and are processed to combine auxiliary blocks and maximize the number of leaves, it will take several days to complete the final awards. The company has not committed to an announcement date of the awards. Please be patient as we await the results and review them to ensure the best outcome for our members.
