Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) Update – August 15, 2014
This week, the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) continued negotiations with the Company in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area.
Proposals and discussions continued over the following Articles/Sections:
- International Flying
- Cabin Jump Seat
- Scheduling
- Leaves of Absence
- Sick Leave
- Seniority
- Filling of Vacancies
- General
- IOD (Injury on Duty)
- EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
- Crew Rest
- Crew Accommodations
- Deadheading
- Transfer to Non-Flying or Supervisory Duties
- Transfer to Non-Related Duties
The JNC and the Company have moved many of the above Articles/Sections into a comprehensive proposal package. This type of negotiating allows both parties to address the few outstanding issues in each section in the hopes of reaching an Agreement in those specific sections.
As you know, per the Negotiations Protocol Agreement (NPA), this “unique” negotiations process is also being supervised and facilitated by a member of the National Mediation Board (NMB). Since we presented the company with our Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA), contract openers on April 24, 2014, we have had this facilitator assist both parties in moving the process as expeditiously as possible.
The facilitator who has been overseeing our negotiations has requested that an additional three (3) days of negotiations be added to our calendar beginning the week of September 1, 2014.
The JNC and the Company will resume negotiations the week of August 25, 2014, in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area.
In Unity,
Joint Negotiating Committee
