Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) Update – September 12, 2014
Your JNC began these unique 150 days of negotiations on April 24, 2014, and we are committed to achieving an Industry Leading Contract for all 24,000 Flight Attendants at the new American.
September 15, 2014, will begin our final week in negotiations with the Company in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. These expedited negotiations per the Negotiations Protocol Agreement (NPA), will conclude on Friday September 19, 2014.
Over the last several weeks, we resolved many of the non-economic sections of the agreement, making substantial progress in areas such as Reserve and Scheduling. In addition, the JNC and the Company are very close to reaching Tentative Agreements (TA) in many of the additional “non-economic” sections listed below. We will post any additional TAs that are reached as soon as possible.
We continued to exchange proposals on the following sections:
- Scheduling
- Reserve
- Language (Speaker – LOD/O)
- International Flying
- Crew Rest
- Crew Accommodations
- Injury on Duty (IOD)
- Sick
- Seniority
- Training
- General
The JNC and the Company began the exchanging of economic proposals this week. Those sections include:
- Compensation
- Insurance, Retirement and other Benefits
- Profit Sharing
- Holiday Pay
- Expenses (TAFB/Per Diem)
- Premium Pay
- Vacation
- Staffing
- Understaffing Pay
- Training Pay
- Galley Pay
- Uniforms
We will be updating this JNC Hotline as events warrant in the coming week. Much more information may be found at APFA.org/negotiations.
In Unity,
Your Joint Negotiating Committee
