Health Benefits – [email protected]
2015 Benefits enrollment is ongoing and will close 14NOV14. If you do not process an Open Enrollment, you current 2014 coverage will roll over to 2015 with the following exceptions;
- Medical-your medical administrator may change
- FSA- You must re-enroll each year to continue participating
- HSA-You must make a new HSA contribution election each year
OSTD/LTD
For those FAs electing either OSTD or LTD for the first time, you will be required to fill out the short 5 question Disability Enrollment form/Statement of Health (SOH). The SOH will be sent to your preferred form of communication you provided when starting the Open Enrollment process.
LOA
For those FAs on an LOA with active Medical, Dental or Vision, you may have received a letter from HR stating you were not eligible to process an Open Enrollment for 2015. This is incorrect. As a result of the misinformation a special Open Enrollment period will open 18NOV14 and continue through 02DEC14.

Benefits Enrollment Assistance
Benefits Enrollment is upon us once again and now is the time to review your options so that you can make the best possible decision for yourself and those who rely on you for benefits coverage.
This year trained Benefits Counselors will be available to assist APFA members with their 2015 benefits elections. The benefits counseling services are being offered by a company called Union Benefit Planners, who have provided benefits education to TWU members for a number of years, along with offering a number of voluntary insurance products. APFA is not endorsing those products. Members should make their own judgments. The counselors have also been trained to assist members with their AA health benefits options.
The Enrollment Counselors will be available at each Flight Attendant crew base during Open Enrollment. If you won’t be passing through your base during Open Enrollment, you may also speak to an Enrollment Counselor over the phone by calling (855) 874-0236 from 9 AM to 6 PM EST Monday through Friday.
The Benefits Counselors are not affiliated with AA or APFA and will refer members to AA HR if there are questions that they are not able to answer.
