January 2015 Overwater Training Draft Ballot Deadline
LAA Flight Attendants who have received an HI6 notification regarding being subject to drafting for Overwater Training in January please note: the deadline to bid for class dates is this Friday, December 12, 2014, at 1000 CT. If you do not submit a ballot and are ultimately drafted you will be assigned a class date. The ballot can be found on the Crew Resources section of the Flight Service page.

Dental Insurance Update
As APFA mentioned in a previous hotline, there existed a dental insurance disparity between LAA Flight Attendants and the management/support staff dental plan being offered for 2015. APFA had discussions with the company and management has agreed to offer LAA Flight Attendants a third option for dental insurance for 2015. This third option includes a max benefit of $1,500 (as opposed to the current plans’ annual max of $1,000) effective January 1, 2015. The insurance also includes orthodontia for dependents and adults.

AA will begin the Flight Attendant enrollment period beginning Thursday, January 22 through Friday, January 30. Again, the insurance will be retroactive to January 1, 2015.
