In an unprecedented move, American management has announced a wage increase today for all employees with Joint Collective Bargaining Agreements in place as well as all non-represented employees below Director level at American Airlines. This means the flight attendant rates of pay will be 7 percent higher than those at Delta (8% at top of scale). First year Flight Attendants scheduled to make $23.28 beginning January 1, 2015, will now make $24.18. Flight Attendant top of scale rates will rise by $2.06. That brings the scheduled wages in the new JCBA on January 1, 2015 from $53.52 to $55.58.
A revised wage chart included in a letter from VP Flight Service Hector Adler to Flight Attendants has been uploaded to www.apfa.org.
In light of this new development, APFA President Laura Glading has called for an Executive Committee teleconference later today in order to approve and incorporate the new wages into our JCBA.
