Special Pay Protection – December 21-31, 2015 – LAA
The special December 2015 pay protection for LAA Flight Attendants that applied to the period between December 21-31, 2015 has been processed. The 400+ Flight Attendants who qualified for the pay protection will see the pay on their HI1 as a PD PROJ, unless the trip was an OE. The pay will be reflected in the end of January paycheck.
In order to be eligible, you needed to have a cancellation or illegality at sequence origination and be removed from an entire trip. This does not apply to mid-sequence Misconnects, Illegalities or Cancellations (MICs). Additionally, those trips that did qualify for last five days pay protection still had to meet the contractual parameters in order to be pay protected. That included being on the MU list for the entire obligation period in the HI1 header and submitting HISEND requests for each day of obligation, even if the obligation was a few hours or minutes of the day.
If you believe you have not been paid correctly for this Special Pay Protection, please contact Jaimie McNeice at [email protected]. Your email should include your employee number, date(s) of cancellation or illegality, as well as the value of the sequence lost or the difference between the MU trip flown and the trip lost.
401(k) Company Contribution Error on ePays – LAA
January 15, 2016 paychecks for LAA Flight Attendants recently posted to ePays. For those LAA Flight Attendants who were added to the Flight Attendant seniority list after April 12, 2012, the three percent Company contribution may not be displaying. No other Flight Attendants were impacted. Although the contribution isn’t displayed on the paycheck itself, the calculation was completed correctly and it will post in your American Airlines 401(k) Plan account on Friday, January 15, 2016, as scheduled. To confirm your contribution posting you can log on to your account at www.netbenefits.com/aa on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
JCBA Training and #PHA5E Meeting in DCA Postponed – LAA/LUS
Due to this week’s emergency meeting of the APFA Board of Directors, the JCBA Training in DCA on January 12 and the #PHA5E Meeting in DCA on January 13 have been postponed. New dates for the training and meeting will be announced in a future hotline.
Voluntary Leave of Absence Ballot – LAA
The ballot for February Voluntary Leave of Absences (VLOAs) is now available on the Crew Resources page of the Flight Service website. An HI6 message will go out each month indicating when the ballot is available. The deadline to submit a ballot for February VLOAs is Friday, January 15 at 0900 Central Time.
2015 Sick Accrual – LAA
As in years past, 2015 sick hours for LAA Flight Attendants will not be finalized until Pay Comp has closed out December 2015 schedules and we have had a chance to review the preliminary information in our HISK/L. It is anticipated that the preliminary information will be available in the HISK/L by January 11. If there is a discrepancy with the accrual you be able to contact the Flight Attendant Service Center this week. Final SK hours for 2015 will be added to sick banks on January 18th. If you’ve had an unpaid sick absence since January 1, 2016, and are still on payroll, the newly accrued sick hours will be applied to the absence.
2016 Sick Accrual – LAA
There are a few changes for LAA Flight Attendants related to sick accrual, which began on January 1st. First, the amount of hours eligible for accrual each month increase to 3.5 hours per month. Second, the hours will be earned at the end of each month rather than at the conclusion of the calendar year. Lastly, paid sick status is now included as being eligible for sick hour accrual.
