Your PHL APFA Base Representatives held two informational base meetings this week.
A Reserve Roundtable Q & A was held on Tuesday, which solely addressed issues that are currently affecting our Reserve Flight Attendants. A PowerPoint presentation was presented and questions answered by John Pennel, our LUS Reserve Rep; Jaimie McNeice APFA Scheduling Chair, and Paul Hartshorn, LUS JNC member and Executive Committee Member. They also provided information on ROTA, including how future and daily processing is handled.
On Wednesday, we had a full agenda with PBS specialists, JNC members, APFA National VP, APFA National Chairs, Regional Representatives, Reserve Specialists, JSIC members, as well as your local elected leadership. Information was provided on base NODs that have been filed and heard on behalf of the PHL Flight Attendants. National VP Marcus Gluth provided an update on current Presidential Grievances. Paul Frishkorn provided information on the changes to FMLA that the Company has made without proper notification to the Union.
Members of the PBS JIRC /JSIC Committee Mike Flores, Emily Arner- Brown, and Laura Albert were on hand to discuss PBS bidding, ETB enhancements and ISAP bidding. JNC members Vicki Balistreri, Julie Hedrick, and Paul Hartshorn provided an update on the JCBA Implementation Schedule.
APFA Contract Chair Brent Peterson provided information on the current struggles with the FCFS and jump seat issues that we are dealing with. He also spoke about what we can expect with SABRE and how the process is much more transparent than our current QIK system, which is part of SHARES.
We would like to thank all those who traveled to PHL to be here to assist, answer questions and provide updates and information to our membership.
In Unity and Solidarity,
