Terror Attacks in Brussels
Our Flight Attendants and Pilots on layovers in Brussels are accounted for and safe. At this time, no American Airlines employees are reported injured.
It has been reported at this time that at least 31 people have been killed and many seriously injured in attacks at Brussels International Airport and a city metro station. Belgium has now raised its terrorism threat to its highest level, and the city is virtually shut down at this time.
APFA and the Company have been in contact with our crewmembers in Brussels. Crews in Brussels are advised to remain at their hotel until further advised, maintain a low profile, stay in contact with their fellow crewmembers, and remain vigilant.
The APFA EAP Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is available for confidential help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For CONFIDENTIAL assistance call: (800) 998-8194.
We send our thoughts and prayers to the victims, families, and those in Brussels.
We will keep you updated as more information develops.
