KCM Information Updated – LUS
LUS crewmember information was updated today with Known Crewmember (KCM) to show American Airlines as your airline affiliation with your American Employee Number. LUS Flight Attendants are asked to check their KCM profile by visiting mykcmsupport.com
Select the Verify Employment link, on the upper right side of the main page, under Manage Account. Your profile should show your airline as American Airlines and the employee ID as your American Employee Number, which is displayed on the front of your crew ID. If the information reflects your AA information, no further action is required.
If your profile still shows US Airways and your US Airways Employee Number, you must update the information to reflect your carrier as American Airlines and your enter your American Airlines Employee Number. For all KCM transactions, you will identify yourself as an American Airlines crewmember and use your American employee number.
Â
Should you experience any issues accessing the KCM website, please contact [email protected] or your Flight Service Manager.Â

Same-Sex Domestic Partner Benefits to be Discontinued on January 1Â –Â LAA/LUS
The current policy at American Airlines of offering benefits coverage for same-sex domestic partners was put in place to provide fair coverage for those that could not legally marry. Since same-sex marriage is now legally-recognized in all states, the Company will be phasing out same-sex domestic partner medical, dental, vision, AD&D and life coverage. As a reminder, this coverage will be discontinued January 1, 2017. All domestic partners, regardless of gender, will still have travel privileges at the same level as a spouse, with proper documentation of the domestic partner relationship.
Zika Virus Company Policy –Â LAA/LUS
In addition to Flight Attendants who are pregnant, or trying to become pregnant, the Company has recently extended their policy to male Flight Attendants who are trying to avoid any transmission of the Zika virus to their partner who is pregnant, or trying to become pregnant.Â
Pregnant women in any trimester should consider postponing travel to the areas where Zika virus transmission is ongoing. Pregnant women who do travel to one of these areas should talk to their doctor or other healthcare provider first and strictly follow steps to avoid mosquito bites during the trip.
Â
If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant (includes male partner seeking to avoid transmission to their partner) and do not wish to take your next pairing to the affected area, contact your Flight Service Manager to request personal time off. This will be an excused Personal absence (PER).
Updated Safety Demo Guidelines –Â LAA/LUS
The Inflight Manual (IFM), Revision 18, effective September 10, 2016, is now available for update to the Flight Attendant tablet.
FAR 121.571 requires that a crewmember conduct a safety demo prior to each takeoff.
This includes diverted and thru flights where no new customers board. Safety demos must be completed prior to take-off. If extra time is needed to complete the demo, notify the Captain immediately.
Please review all other updates in the Revision 18 highlight sheet.
New F/A Tablet App for Crew Position Swaps – LUS
When Pilots transition to their single FOS/Crew Scheduling system and all Flightdeck procedures are aligned on October 1, the Pilots will discontinue entering position swaps into ACARs. To ensure correct pay for your assigned position, a new tablet app allows LUS Flight Attendants to report a position swap prior to a flight.
Â
The app will download automatically when the tablet connects to a 3G/4G signal. (Power tablet on; WiFi=Off; Airplane Mode=Off)
Â
You can start using the app immediately. Starting Saturday, October 1, only the app can be used to submit a swap.
- All Flight Attendants on the pairing must be signed in/checked in for the trip.
- Only the A-FA submits the swap. If a swap takes place involving the A-FA position, the new A-FA submits any subsequent swaps.
- Crew swaps may only be submitted between report time and departure time.If the app is inoperable, or the position swap cannot be submitted within the pre-departure window, the back-up procedure is to contact Crew Scheduling.
- NIPD flights – swaps may be submitted within 60 minutes of scheduled departure time.
- IPD flights – swaps may be submitted within 75 minutes of scheduled departure time.
- If the app is inoperable, or the position swap cannot be submitted within the pre-departure window, the back-up procedure is to contact Crew Scheduling.
A User Guide is available on the F/A tablet by going to: Select Document Library>FA Tablet Information>Crew Swap User Guide
