Dear Colleagues,
Â
As you know, AA Flight 383 was evacuated Friday after experiencing an engine related issue on roll-out just prior to takeoff. Due to the swift, heroic actions of the crew, 161 passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft with no critical injuries reported.
Â
I have reached out to our crew members and their spirits are high. Words cannot express how proud I am to represent such amazing professionals who put their lives on the line every day to keep our passengers and each other safe.
Â
Though the flying public may forget that Flight Attendants are First Responders, passenger safety is our first priority. Yesterday’s incident could have ended differently had it not been for the trained, professional Pilots and Flight Attendants on-board that aircraft. They did exactly what they are trained to do, and they did it well.
Â
Thank you to all our members and colleagues industry-wide for your dedication as safety professionals each and every day.
Â
You are my heroes.
Â
In Solidarity,
Bob Ross
APFA National President
