APFA is pleased to congratulate the Flight Attendants of Southwest Airlines and their union, TWU, on the ratification of their new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
With 89% of their members participating in the vote, 54% voted to ratify the 24 month agreement. It includes a 6% pay increase at DOS and additional 3% wage increases over the life of the contract, for a total of over 12% compounded wage increases over the next two years. This puts the top out pay of a Southwest Flight Attendant at over $72 an hour in 2018. In addition, they will receive a 16% signing bonus valued at $105 million.
Â
As you know, American Airlines Flight Attendants have not had a true Section 6 CBA in nearly 15 years since 2001. APFA will continue to press our new management team to recognize our Flight Attendants as worthy of true industry leading pay and benefits; noting that we are competitors of not only United, but Delta and Southwest as well.
