Update on Wage Adjustment Arbitration
Arbitration dates for the UAL case have been set for January 5th and 6th, 2017 in Washington D.C. (exact location to be announced.) As required by the Negotiations Protocol Agreement, the same neutral arbitrators who heard the original interest arbitration will be on the panel hearing the case:
Richard Bloch
Roberta Golick
Joshua Javits
In addition to the original neutral arbitrators, APFA and the Company will each choose two extra arbitrators for the panel. Those appointees are yet to be announced.
The hearings will be open to the membership and we will be providing further information in terms of the logistics of membership attendance. We look forward to active participation and will be providing timely updates throughout the arbitration hearing.
APFA’s position is clear: A true market-based in the aggregate standard should include Delta’s current wages as well as United’s recently ratified JCBA.
Even though arbitration will take place just months before Delta’s Flight Attendants receive an additional 6% raise as well as a 401(k) benefit enhancement, our position puts us within a reasonable wage range with our peers at the other major carriers—today.
In the days leading up to arbitration, it is our hope that the Company will reconsider its low ball offer and recognize that a true industry aggregate should be representative of the value we bring to the world’s largest airline.Â
