In a recent blindsiding communication, the Company announced the immediate implementation of a programming fix to the CATS Reserve Off Day Trading System to ensure compliance with the contractual distribution of days off on reserve.
I would like to make it perfectly clear that APFA was not made aware of this announcement until just minutes prior to its release to the membership.
This “bug” in the system has gone unchecked for nearly 2 years, and although the fix is compliant with contractual language, the Company’s decision to drop this change on the LUS reserves just hours before the close of the first December run for trading days off on reserve is unconscionable; and to not inform APFA leadership was disrespectful to the union and our members.
We will continue to advocate for our reserves regardless of your legacy, and we will not tolerate this backhanded and callous way of treating Flight Attendants and pitting them against their union.
Once again, we are disappointed with the Company’s decision, timing, and handling of this situation, and will hold them to explain its reasoning and lack of communication to both LUS Reserves and APFA.

APFA National President
