Disaster Relief for FAs Impacted by Harvey – LAA/LUS

As we continue to deal with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, The WINGS FOUNDATION’s Flight Attendant Disaster Relief (FADR) is here to assist Flight Attendants whose homes have been affected. WINGS FADR provides financial assistance to AA Flight Attendants whose primary residence is damaged or destroyed by any catastrophic event or natural disaster.

The safety and well-being of our colleagues is our top priority, and we continue to closely monitor the situation. At the time of this writing, we are not aware of any employees that have been injured in the storm or flooding. For our colleagues who remain in the affected areas, please stay safe.

Free Doctor On Demand Visit for FAs Affected by Harvey – LAA/LUS

The Doctor On Demand Team has agreed to offer a free medical visit with one of their board-certified doctors for anyone in Louisianna or Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey. Doctors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The offer is valid through September 8th and can be used by applying the code HARVEY2017* to your Doctor On Demand account.

APFA Objects to Security Changes at PIT – LAA/LUS

APFA responded this week to the TSA’s recent decision to allow non-ticketed general public access to airside terminal gates, shops and restaurants at the Pittsburgh International Airport beginning on September 5th. We feel this decision, motivated by airport terminal vendors looking to increase sales, sets a dangerous precedent and should be reconsidered.

“Aviation security relies on a layered approach where if terrorists breech a layer, second and third layers come into play to protect us. Letting our guard down in Pittsburgh or any other airport for the benefit of retailers is not the right approach to airline safety and security.” APFA National President Bob Ross

APFA HDQ Closed Monday in Observance of Labor Day – LAA/LUS

Whether you are celebrating this Labor Day Weekend with friends and family or flying with your colleagues, take a moment to consider the gains realized as a result of organized labor movements throughout history.

As of today, there have been 3,942 Flight Attendants who have filed uniform reaction reports.
