 Hurricane Maria – Update 1 – LAA/LUS

Hurricane Maria is now a Category 3 storm and is located approximately 80 miles NE of St. Lucia. It is moving West-Northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph. Hurricane Maria is expected to strengthen to a Category 4 later this evening. The forecast shows the storm track passing Dominica tonight, Puerto Rico on Wednesday and the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

Operations Update of Impacted Stations:

ANU – Antigua
- Airport will close today, Sept 18th, at 1800.
- All flights cancelled Sept. 19th.
- Tentative plans for airport to reopen Sept. 20th at 0600.
SJU – San  Juan
- Plans are to cancel all RONs on Sept. 19th.Â
- All flights cancelled on Sept. 20th.
- Tentative plans are to resume operations on Sept. 21st with first inbound flight.
SKB – St. Kitts
- All flights cancelled Sept. 19th.
STT – St. Thomas
- All flights cancelled on Sept. 20th
- Resume operations on Sept. 21st.
STX – St. Croix
- Operating Flight 1293 MIA-STX-MIA on Sept. 19th is under review.
- All flights cancelled on Sept. 20th.
- Evaluating service resumption on Sept. 21st.
SXM – St. Maarten
- All operations suspended following Hurricane Irma through Sept. 24th.
- Resumption of service tentatively planned for Sept. 25th.
